On April 18, 2025, Uzbekistan made an important announcement regarding the introduction of a new simplified program for obtaining residence permits for foreign citizens and stateless persons. Starting June 1, 2025, anyone who wants to can get a five-year “Golden Visa” by making a one-time payment of $250,000. Plus, each family member (spouse, kids, and parents) will need to pay $150,000.

This innovation complements existing options for obtaining a residence permit, such as an investment visa and a real estate program. The new mechanism offers a more accessible and flexible path for wealthy citizens who wish to live in Uzbekistan for a long time. The program does not require the creation of a business or the purchase of real estate, and there are no restrictions on citizenship.

The official launch of the program is scheduled for June, but applications can be submitted once the necessary regulations with instructions and requirements are published. However, potential applicants can start preparing their documents and finances in advance of the program's launch.

Thanks to the introduction of a simplified residence permit process, Uzbekistan is creating favorable conditions for attracting foreign capital and stimulating interest in high-end tourism and real estate. This innovation opens the door to international cooperation and invites people from all over the world not only to visit the country, but also to consider the possibility of long-term residence.
