Botswana's e-Visa portal is up and running again: visa applications are now being accepted

Botswana is once again opening its doors to international travelers, offering a convenient and modern visa application service—the e-Visa portal. After a temporary outage caused by technical issues, the e-Visa system is now fully restored and operational, making it much easier to obtain entry permits for the country.
The portal was restored after an unexpected suspension at the end of April, when the registration of new applications was temporarily halted without prior notice. Foreign citizens can now once again apply for various types of visas — tourist, business, work, guest, investor, transit, student, and diplomatic — entirely online. This significantly reduces waiting times and eliminates the need to visit embassies or consulates.
The Botswana e-Visa portal is available to citizens of countries that require a visa to enter the country. Citizens of the European Union, the United States, Canada, Japan, and the United Kingdom who are eligible for visa-free entry for short-term tourist and business trips do not need to apply for an e-Visa.
The revamped portal opens up new opportunities for foreign nationals from around the world to explore Botswana's rich wildlife, unique landscapes, and cultural heritage. The country continues to demonstrate its commitment to tourism development and international cooperation by inviting everyone to discover its amazing beauty.
