Russia began issuing electronic visas for foreign citizens
On August 1, 2023, Russia began issuing electronic visas for foreign nationals. These visas will be valid throughout the country.
The electronic visa allows for a single entry and stay in Russia as a guest or for a business visit, as well as for tourism purposes, participation in cultural, scientific, economic, socio-political, sporting events, as well as for establishing contacts and relations.
Electronic visas are valid for entry and exit from Russia using various modes of transportation, including air, road and water. In addition, it is possible to cross the state border of the Russian Federation without a transit visa.
Citizens of the countries listed below will be able to obtain an e-visa.
The validity of the electronic visa is 60 days from the date of issuance, with the authorized period of stay not exceeding 16 days from the date of entry into the territory of the country. The electronic visa is issued on the basis of an application filled in electronically by a foreign citizen on a special website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia or through a visa center. The application for an electronic visa to Russia must be submitted no later than 4 calendar days before entering the country.
