Cuba announced the imminent launch of a new electronic visa issuance system
Earlier we reported that Cuba is preparing to launch a new e-visa system. Now the details of the visa have been revealed, and a website has appeared where visitors will soon be able to apply for an e-visa.
In today's world, Cuba, like many other countries, is looking to simplify visas and make it easier for foreign visitors to enter. Previously, tourists were issued a tourist card, also known as a tourist visa, allowing them to stay in the country for up to 90 days with the possibility of a 3-month extension.
Last year, Cuba announced its intention to introduce an electronic visa (e-Visa) and to date a website has already been launched where visitors can apply for an e-visa. It is expected that it will subsequently replace the tourist card. Cuban authorities have not yet announced an exact date for the launch of the new system, so tourists should obtain a tourist card before the end of 2024.
The e-visa will be valid for a year and will allow up to 90 days in the country with the possibility of extending for the same period. It will be single-entry and the processing time will be only a few working days. The e-visa will also be linked to a tourist declaration form, which every tourist must fill out 72 hours before arrival in the country.
