Getting an electronic visa to Azerbaijan has become easier. Have you ever been to Nagorno-Karabakh? Now it doesn't matter to get an e-visa. Travelers applying for an e-visa, also known as an Asan visa, to travel to Azerbaijan previously had to indicate whether they had visited Nagorno-Karabakh.

Nagorno-Karabakh is a region in Transcaucasia, located in the eastern part of the Armenian Plateau. It encompasses the mountainous and foothill regions of the eastern and southeastern Lesser Caucasus. Together with Plain Karabakh, this region forms the historical and geographical region of Karabakh.

Now, in order to apply for an electronic visa (e-Visa), it is not necessary to provide information about your travels to the Nagorno-Karabakh region. Since July 22, 2024, this requirement has been abolished by the decree of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

Until now, applicants were obliged to report whether they had visited any territories that had been under the control of the Republic of Armenia since 1991.

Electronic visa to Azerbaijan is a single-entry permit for short-term stay in the country for foreign citizens. Such a visa is issued in electronic format. The e-visa program was introduced to make obtaining a short-term entry permit quick and convenient for citizens of 98 countries. The e-visa allows travelers to stay in Azerbaijan for up to 30 days and is valid for 90 days from the date of issuance. With this visa, travelers can enter the country through any sea, air or land ports.
