Tourist visa to Mongolia

Mongolia's rules and regulations on tourist entry indicate that all foreign nationals require a visa for tourist travel. Depending on nationality, this may be a tourist e-visa obtained online or a tourism visa issued by a diplomatic mission. Citizens of over 175 countries can easily apply for a Mongolian tourist visa online. For a complete list, please see the e-visa page.

Citizens of other countries that are not on the list of countries eligible for visa-free travel or e-visa must apply for a tourist visa at the Mongolian Embassy or Consulate. It is recommended to start the visa application process well in advance of your planned date of arrival in Mongolia to allow sufficient time for processing and approval.

In order to stay in Mongolia for more than 30 days or to obtain a double-entry or multiple-entry visa for work or study, you need to obtain permission from the Office of Immigration, Naturalization and Foreigners of Mongolia. You can obtain this authorization with the help of your partners or supporters in Mongolia.

A foreign national who holds a passport valid for at least 12 months is able to obtain a residence permit or entry visa for personal or business purposes. At the same time, a person whose passport is valid for at least 6 months can extend the permit for further stay for personal and business purposes.
