Visa on arrival
Laos visa regulations require some foreign travelers to apply for a visa on arrival at the port of entry. Currently, a visa on arrival in Laos is required for nationals of fewer than 10 countries for short-term stays.
A single entry visa on arrival to Laos is issued to approved individuals and allows them to stay in the country for up to 30 days. However, the process of obtaining a visa on arrival can take a long time at the border post.
To apply, eligible travelers arriving in Laos must go directly to an immigration checkpoint and wait for their turn to receive their visa on arrival from the border authorities. They then need to fill out the appropriate form with their personal details, tourist travel information and passport details.
Citizens who are eligible for a visa on arrival can obtain one at all points of entry except:
- Napao-Chalo
- Subhun
- Paksan-Bueng Kan
- Sieng Kok River Port
