Traveling to Uganda requires a visa unless you are a citizen of a country that has visa-free travel with Uganda. This means that you can either apply for a visa through our agency or go to the nearest Ugandan embassy. Although some people prefer to visit the embassy, we highly recommend using our service. * - All applicants must have a valid passport, valid for at least 6 months from the date of intended arrival in Uganda.
** - Failure to do so may require mandatory yellow fever vaccination upon arrival in Uganda, as well as some quarantine measures. Children under 5 years of age should also be immunized against polio.

Do I need a visa to travel to Uganda?
Yes, most travelers to Uganda need a valid visa or e-visa. Some countries are exempt from this requirement, but you can check your status using our criteria checker tool.
What is the validity period of the e-visa for Uganda?
The validity period depends on the type of visa selected. A tourist visa is valid for 90 days from the moment of entry into the country, a transit visa - within 24 hours. A multiple entry visa can be issued for 1-12 days, with a maximum stay of 12 months. A 12-24 day multiple entry visa has a maximum stay of 24 months. There is also an East African Tourist Visa, which is valid for 90 days from the date of entry into any of the countries where the visa is valid: Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda.
Do I need to be immunized before traveling to Uganda?
Yes, yellow fever vaccination is required to enter Uganda. Citizens who do not provide a yellow fever vaccination certificate will be denied entry into the country.
