Tanzania e-visa

The visa can be single-entry, issued for 90 days and multiple-entry, issued for 12 months.

Business e-Visa
Business e-Visa

The single entry visa allows foreign entrepreneurs to officially visit Tanzania for business purposes, conferences, negotiations and contracts.

Foreign citizens can stay in the country for no more than 90 days.

Documents for issuance: scan or digital photo of the passport, digital photo of the applicant, return ticket, document confirming business purposes.

Humanitarian e-Visa
Humanitarian e-Visa

Granted to persons engaged in humanitarian activities or to participate in charitable projects in Tanzania.

Foreign citizens can stay in the country for up to 90 days.

Documents for issuance: scan or digital photo of passport, digital photo of applicant, return ticket, documents confirming humanitarian purposes.

Private e-Visa
Private e-Visa

It is intended for persons who plan to visit Tanzania for personal purposes such as visiting relatives or friends, family event, tourism or other non-commercial purposes.

The visa is single-entry, issued for 90 days and multiple-entry, for family visits, issued for 12 months.

Documents for issuance: scan or digital photo of passport, digital photo of applicant, return ticket, supporting documents: marriage certificate or birth certificate.

Student e-Visa
Student e-Visa

The visa allows foreign students to study in Tanzania, attend educational institutions and participate in academic programs.

The validity of the visa will depend on the duration of the course of study - up to 90 days or more than 90 days.

Documents for processing: scan or digital photo of the passport, digital photo of the applicant, return ticket, document from the educational organization of Tanzania or Zanzibar.

Transit e-Visa
Transit e-Visa

This is a single entry visa designed for travelers who require a transit stay in Tanzania while transferring to another flight.

Foreign nationals can stay in the country for up to 7 days.

Documents for issuance: scan or digital photo of passport, digital photo of applicant, entry visa or ticket to the destination country.

 

*U.S. citizens can only obtain a multiple-entry visa to travel to Tanzania for tourism, to visit relatives, or to attend a conference. Under agreements between Tanzania and the U.S., they cannot obtain a regular single-entry visa.

A multiple-entry visa is valid for 12 months, but each stay cannot exceed three months. This means that multiple-entry visa holders can visit the country for no more than three months on each visit.
