St. Kitts and Nevis introduces electronic travel authorization system
St. Kitts and Nevis announced the launch of the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system, which will come into effect in fiscal year 2025. This new digital platform is designed to simplify the process of entering the country through designated ports of entry by providing travelers with the ability to obtain prior authorization for entry.
The ETA system is aligned with global border management standards and promises to significantly improve the efficiency of entry points, reducing wait times for travelers and creating a more comfortable experience for them.
Travelers will be able to apply for permits online by providing personal and travel information and paying a small fee. After the application is approved they will receive an electronic document with a QR code, which will have to be presented when entering the country.
It is important to note that all travelers planning a trip to St. Kitts and Nevis will be required to complete an electronic Immigration and Customs (ED) form prior to arrival. More detailed instructions and information on the application process will be available closer to the system's launch date. The introduction of ETA will strengthen the Federation's position as one of the Caribbean's leading tourist destinations.
