Indonesia introduces a five-year visa
Indonesia recently announced a new visa initiative, a five-year multiple-entry visa available for tourists and business travelers. According to the Directorate General of Immigration strategically important decision to increase the country's attractiveness to foreign visitors and stimulate economic growth.
The new 5-year visa is aimed to simplify travel to Indonesia and save money for travelers. It allows its holders to extend their stay in the country for up to 60 days per visit. But, the exact periods of authorized stay are still being finalized.
This visa allows traveling to different regions of Indonesia, meet family and friends within the country. It also allows for participation in business events and meetings, but does not grant work authorization.
As part of efforts to attract foreign travelers, the Indonesian government is considering visa waiver for 20 countries. This list includes France, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Italy, Spain, among other countries. This policy change shows Indonesia's desire to strengthen its position as a global tourist destination.
