Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet announced that from September 1, 2024, foreign nationals will be able to pay visa fees on arrival through a new e-Arrival portal. Previously, the visa application process required filling out paper forms at embassies or consulates and waiting in lines to pay in cash upon arrival.

The new system introduces a fully digital process, allowing travelers to avoid paperwork and queues. They will now be able to pay visa fees directly on arrival at Cambodia's international airports of Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Sihanoukville.

The Prime Minister also said that in the future, electronic payments will be used to pay taxes, apply for visas on arrival and process visa documents at embassies and consulates abroad.

This innovation is a significant step towards the digitalization of visa procedures, which should make travel to Cambodia more convenient and attractive for foreign tourists.
