Belarus introduces temporary visa-free regime for citizens of European countries
The leadership of the Republic of Belarus, headed by the President of the country, announced the introduction of temporary visa-free regime for 35 European countries.
On July 19, 2024, a new visa-free regime will come into force in Belarus for citizens of the following countries:
Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Northern Macedonia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, United States of America.
This initiative is aimed at strengthening international cooperation and stimulating the tourism industry in the Republic of Belarus.
The new visa-free entry rules allow citizens of the above countries to enter the territory of Belarus by any convenient way for up to 30 days for an unlimited number of times up to and including December 31, 2024. However, the total number of days of stay in the country without a visa should not exceed 90 days per year. The exception are holders of diplomatic, service and special passports.
One can cross the Belarusian border both through road, rail and air international checkpoints, including transit to third countries, except for the Russian Federation, without prior issuance of visas on valid foreign passports.
Recall that the Belarusian Foreign Ministry also approved the extension of visa-free regime in 2024 with Lithuania, Latvia and Poland, which was approved in April 2022.
