Visa for Kuwait

Kuwait has a strict visa policy that defines all requirements, rules and regulations for foreign nationals wishing to visit the country. Almost all citizens, regardless of nationality, require a visa to enter Kuwait. According to Kuwait's visa policy, you may have the option of obtaining an e-visa or a visa on arrival, depending on your nationality, purpose and duration of your trip.

Kuwait's visa policy offers electronic visa applications to approximately 170 countries around the world. After completing a quick online application, the application is emailed to the applicant. About 65 other countries cannot receive an e-visa and must apply for a visa in person at the Kuwaiti government's diplomatic mission in their country before departure. Chinese nationals do not require a visa if the purpose of travel is for public relations work.

Official and diplomatic passport holders from the following countries do not require a visa:

Albania, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bulgaria, Cyprus, China, Egypt, Germany, Honduras, Hungary, India, Ireland, Malta, Mongolia, Morocco, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, South Korea, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Vietnam,

as well as the diplomatic passports of nationals:

Armenia, Estonia, France, Greece, Italy, Iraq, Mexico, Poland, Spain, Uzbekistan also do not require a visa.

If you are traveling in transit through Kuwait and spend more than 24 hours in the country or want to leave the airport, you need to obtain a Kuwait transit visa valid for a maximum stay of seven days.
