Kuwaiti authorities have suspended its electronic visa service (e-Visa) for a period of time in order to update and improve the visa application portal. There is currently no official information on when the e-Visa system will be reopened, causing some difficulties for those planning their travel to Kuwait.

However, it is possible for citizens of 53 countries, including Germany, to obtain a tourist visa on arrival at Kuwait International Airport. This makes the process of visiting the country much easier for tourists.

Countries whose nationals are able to obtain a visa on arrival in Kuwait:

For foreign nationals who are allowed to obtain a visa on arrival, it is important to remember that they must visit an immigration checkpoint at the airport to apply. Before doing so, the following documents must be prepared: a valid passport with a validity of at least six months from the date of entry into Kuwait, a return ticket and payment of the consular fee.

We are closely monitoring the situation and will inform you immediately of any changes. As soon as the Kuwait Ministry of Interior reopens the e-Visa system, we will notify you.
