Visa to Togo

Most foreign nationals can enter Togo only with a visa. Visas are issued at Togo's diplomatic missions abroad or upon arrival. Togo has the option to apply online for a temporary visitor visa, which makes the application process easier. This electronic visa allows you to enter the country and has much in common with a regular visa, except that you do not need to visit an embassy or consulate to get a stamp or mark in your passport. By filling out a simple online form to request a visa to Togo, you can get a visa for up to 90 days, greatly increasing your flexibility and length of stay in the country. It takes up to 3 weeks to review, apply and process your visa. For stays exceeding 90 days, you must obtain the appropriate visa in advance from the embassy.

For a regular visa, you need to apply at the Togolese embassy abroad. Togo's visa policy states that all foreign nationals can obtain a visa on arrival, with the exception of Mauritanian passport holders. Togo's visa on arrival can be applied for at visa issuance points at Lomé International Airport or at major border crossings. The visa on arrival is issued on the day of entry and entitles you to stay in Togo for up to 7 days. If necessary, the stay can be extended up to 90 days at the Aliens and Passport Service in Lomé. For a visa on arrival, a valid passport, a ticket out of the country and payment of the state duty at the point of entry are sufficient.

Visa-free travel is available for citizens of ECOWAS member countries, as well as for holders of service and diplomatic passports of China and Russia. Such visitors can stay in Togo without a visa for up to 90 days. Citizens of visa-free countries may enter Togo without a visa for up to 90 days. For longer stays, a visa will be required in advance.
