Visa for Tajikistan

Visa is a permission granted to foreigners or stateless persons to cross the state border, enter, stay, exit and transit through the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan during the validity period of the issued visa. Visa provides official authorization to stay in the country and is a necessary document for foreigners planning to visit Tajikistan.

A visa is issued in the form of a special sticker with anti-counterfeiting security features, which is attached to a special page in the passport or other relevant documents. Such category of visa is called standard or sticker. Starting from January 1, 2017, the Republic of Tajikistan has launched an electronic service for visa applications. Since January 1, 2022 Tajikistan has introduced a unilateral 30-day visa-free regime for 53 countries. This means that citizens of the following 62 countries can visit Tajikistan without the need for a visa during the period of stay indicated below.

Citizens of some countries can obtain a visa on arrival at Dushanbe International Airport for up to 45 days:

Chinese nationals who hold a passport marked "public relations" do not need a visa for stays up to 30 days. Holders of diplomatic or official/service passports of Brunei, China, Hungary, India, Iran, North Korea, Hungary, Pakistan, Romania, South Korea, Turkey, as well as holders of diplomatic passports of Afghanistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan only do not need a visa to Tajikistan.
