Extension of visa-free stay in Thailand for citizens of Germany and other countries
In August 2024, new information was provided on visa-free entry to Thailand.
From July 2024, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has made significant changes to the country's visa policy, extending the visa-free stay for tourists and business travellers from 93 countries from 30 to 60 days, including Germany. In addition, from August 2024, foreign nationals will be able to extend their stay in the country for a further 30 days. The extension request must be submitted to Thai immigration.
The changes in visa policy are an integral part of Thailand's strategy to attract more tourists and business travellers and to increase the length of their stay in the country. These steps are intended to have a favourable impact on the economy and promote the development of tourism infrastructure, which in turn will create further opportunities for growth and prosperity in the industry.
