As you know, in March 2023, Myanmar (Burma), along with other countries, significantly simplified sanitary requirements regarding COVID-19 for travelers entering the country, eliminating, among other things, the requirement to present a health insurance policy upon arrival.

However, some restrictions still remained, such as monitoring travelers' temperatures at points of entry and having them pay for testing, isolation, and medical treatment during their stay.

Finally, on July 8, 2024, Myanmar's Ministry of Health officially announced the lifting of all sanitary anti-cowork restrictions for entry into the country.

According to the ministry, this decision was made possible due to the success of COVID-19 vaccination coverage and the adaptation of society to the new conditions. As a result, the incidence of COVID-19 virus in Myanmar has significantly decreased.

It is worth noting that no radical changes have been made, as these requirements have remained minimal since 2023.

Nevertheless, local authorities said that this decision is aimed at stimulating the development of tourism and trade in the country and will significantly contribute to the recovery of Myanmar's economy after the pandemic period.

As a reminder, most foreign nationals still need to obtain a visa to visit Myanmar, as the updated entry rules do not affect the country's visa regulations in any way.

In addition, it is strongly recommended to take out health insurance to visit the country, even if it is not a prerequisite for entry.
