Israel introduces electronic travel authorization: what does it mean for tourists?
Israel is implementing a new ETA-IL electronic entry permit system as of June this year, this introduces new conditions for visitors from visa-free countries. In other words, you will now need to obtain an ETA-IL before traveling to Israel.
The ETA-IL is not a visa, but rather an electronic entry permit that allows the Israeli authorities to conduct effective background checks on tourists, in order to maintain order and security. The validity of this permit lasts for 2 years after its issuance and allows you to stay in Israel for up to 3 months.
It is important to note that no fee will be charged during the test period, which will begin on June 1.
The introduction of ETA-IL is part of an Israeli initiative to simplify and speed up the process of entering the country, while maintaining visa-free travel for citizens of Russia and other countries. The idea is a seamless and safe travel experience for tourists.
If you have plans to travel to Israel in the near future, don't forget to get an ETA-IL in advance. This will help you avoid unnecessary difficulties at the border and ensure a pleasant trip to this amazing country.
