Belize launches electronic immigration and customs declaration system from December 2024
The Government of Belize has introduced a new digital customs and immigration declaration system effective December 1, 2024. This system will simplify and expedite procedures, allowing for better management of passenger flows and minimizing waiting times at the border.
The new system is available at the Philip Goldson International Airport, Belize's main entry and exit point. Within the first three months of the launch, users will be able to test the platform, which will accept both traditional paper and electronic forms. This approach will ensure a smooth transition to the new digital solution. From January 1, 2025, the authorities plan to fully integrate the system at all ports of entry.
The online platform is designed for all travelers, allowing them to fill out and submit the necessary immigration and customs data in advance of their trip. This not only improves the accuracy of the information, but also makes the traveling process more comfortable.
In the declaration form to be filled on the official portal, travelers will need to enter their personal details and travel information. After entering all the data, an arrival form with a QR code will be created, as well as a customs declaration, which will be necessary to present upon arrival.
The introduction of this digital system will considerably simplify the procedures of immigration and customs control, providing faster and more convenient service. As the peak tourist season approaches, the process of entering Belize will become more efficient and comfortable for all visitors to the country.
