Electronic visa to Vietnam

Vietnam has launched an electronic visa (E-visa) program. This digital visa authorizes entry into the country for various tourist purposes and can be obtained online.

The streamlined system has been designed to make the Vietnam visa application process faster and easier for visitors, eliminating the need to go to an embassy.

The Vietnam e-visa is available to citizens of 80 different countries and territories.

It is a single-entry or multiple-entry visa that allows its holder to enter Vietnam and stay in this Southeast Asian nation for up to a maximum of 90 days.

Vietnam e-visa can be used to visit the country for tourism, business, study, visiting relatives, journalism and other purposes.

Travelers from eligible countries must fill out a simple online application form, providing some basic personal and passport information such as document number and expiration date. It is also necessary to provide a valid email address to receive an approved e-visa for Vietnam.

The passport used for the online Vietnam visa application must be presented at the Vietnam border to enter the country. If the passport is lost, stolen, damaged or otherwise invalidated prior to arrival, the traveler must apply for a new Vietnam e-visa with their new passport.

Vietnam e-visa is accepted at all international airports in Vietnam.

The standard Vietnam e-tourist visa is issued for a period of 30 days. This means that this visa can be used to stay in Vietnam for no more than 30 days from the date of entry into the country.

Business e-visa and some other types have a validity period of 90 days. This period is also counted from the date of crossing the border of Vietnam.

It is important to note that it is not possible to extend the validity of an e-visa locally in Vietnam. If there is a need to stay in the country longer than the established period, you will have to apply for a regular tourist visa at the embassy of Vietnam in your country.

In this case, the validity of the e-visa does not affect the duration of the authorized stay. For example, on a 30-day e-visa, it is still possible to stay in Vietnam for up to 30 days, even if more time has passed since the visa was issued.

Thus, it is important for travelers to plan their trip to Vietnam taking into account the validity period of the e-visa in order to meet the allotted period and, if necessary, to apply for another type of visa in time to continue their stay.
